The first project workshop was held in Venice, at Venice International University, on 14 June 2013. It gathered the international public-private partners of the project which presented their experiences in terms of enhancement of cultural heritage linked to the strong connections between the Republic of Venice and the other countries in the Euro-Mediterranean area through touristic and cultural activities (18 project partners from six countries brought their experiences). Mrs Ilona Lelonek Husting from the European Commission – Dg Enterprise and Industry presented EU Tourism Policy. Moreover, the presentation of one of the more dynamic Council of Europe cultural routes, Transromanica, showed the functioning of a transnational network of a cultural takens into consideration for a long term working network. The audience of the workshop was comprised of students, Venetian maritime authorities, Venetian cultural operators, Consulates in Veneto region of the VeRoTour countries.
